Affirmative action is generally regarded as a policy to correct the affects of discrimination in the advancement of certain groups. Any person that comes under this category should avail it. My problem is not with affirmative action per se but with the hypocrisy of the Church. If Christianity is a religion, free of "varna" system and such "evils," the existence of Dalit Christian is a big question mark. I would have no grouse if the Church in India had come out and openly declared that the brand of Christianity in India is different from the rest of the world.
