It was AASU, in a bid to sieze power, who signed the Assam Accord willy-nilly, where the IMDT Act was firmly attached. Who was their advisor? One of the law professors from GU (if I am not in error).The AGP ruled Assam in league with the UMF (United Minority Front) and guess what? Altaf M. Majumdar, the leader of the UMF was the main architect of the infamous Act in question .
