That was a very gracious note Kamal.
Happy Bihu to everyone, even though belatedly.
I agree with Ram and Bhuban Kokaideu about how you were conspicuous by leaving yourself out of the MAS ( mutual admiration society). Mulk Raj Anand or not, here is my little tribute to your contributions to Assam Net:
I give you an 'A' for your determined defense of the views you
believe in. I appreciate your avoiding the " on the one hand this
and on the other that" kind of wavering arguments. I may not
agree with some of them but I respect the stance.I agree with most of your comments about the various netters. Except that on the
very kind words that you showered on this odhom :-). I don't know if the Daily Show is allowed in the airwaves of the autonomous territory of Texas, but the anchor of its Fake News segment ( I forget his name now) was interviewed by Terry Gross of NPR ( is that allowed in Texas :-)?)about where she complimented the interviewee's command of issues and asked him how he does that. His explanation was something that could be applicable to my own efforts as well: He said that he just makes himself SEEM to be in command of things. That he grew up in a family that valued intelligence, and grew up in circles where intelligence and knowledge was respected. So he always wanted to SEEM to be intelligent, and worked on it, obviously fairly successfully. He explained that in truth he knows little, but he manages to present himself in a manner that makes him SEEM intelligent.
I thought that this guy explained my own little secret so well, that it fits to the tee.
Also,a side correction to Bhuban Kokaideo's characterization of my protestations against his complimenting me on my academic excellence. I was never 'furious', I just clarified that there was no truth to such rumors. And I still stand behind my record of NEVER having been a 'brilliant student' of anything.Maybe above average. But that is not a feat to write home about, since ALL these Netters are indeed ABOVE AVERAGE ( with apologies to the children of Lake Woebegone and
Garrison Keelor(?) of NPR).

PS to Ram: I will write to Tilok Daktor inquiring if his annual awards roster is ready yet.
