*** Were we?

I know I miss a lot. But perhaps the informed would enlighten us.

However, even though US Democracy has its own problems, at least we have a system with functioning institutions. For example:

*** Businesses and people pay income tax. Imagine!

*** The police and the judiciary could be depended on, by and large
to provide safety and enforce accountability.

*** That there the electorate system, by and large, is a fair one
and that there is a semblance of order in election financing,
in spite of the abuses and the loop-holes.

*** That the high and the mighty are not always above the law. The
Republican governor of Pennsylvania going to prison, is a good example.

*** There are examples of Presidents getting impeached, federal
judges being impeached, US Senators and congressmen serving time
in prison, and heads of mighty corporations going to prison. There is
        credible deterrence.

Is there a difference between desi-demokrasy and US democracy? Take a wild guess.

And weren't we told American "demokrasy" was perfect (vis-a-vis the desi demokrasy i.e.)?
