I think,a person is allowed to marry legally here in  the US at the age of 18 or above.A 16 year old teen-ager can marry with parental consent only.

Earlier,I was just trying to slip levity amidst other discussions.I agree with you and Santanu that child-marriage and foeticide should be studied as a culture-attributed crime.

I was merely focussing on the use of words.For example," foeticide" means killing of foetus and "'abortion" means termination of gestation with an aim to destroy the same foetus.Similarly, " child-marriage" sounds unpolished whereas " teen-age marriage" appears to be refined.
