Amiya-da,

I read your article in ASA Newsletter (May issue) and your desire to make the readers conduct surveys in their locality  -from time to time, whcih would help keep tabs on undue , unaccounted for flow of wealth . I think is a good suggestion but needs to be implemented effectively over a long period of time - and need some dedicated volunteers.

Is anybody having the time to conduct such a detailed analysis about the neigbours. For instance, I have been staying in my locality for 25 years and people indeed have gronw rich, some by illegal means too -- but I cannot pry into their affairs and be a good neighbor at the same time. Even if I did, how can I bring them to the book, since the rich always have contact with powerful people?

Could you please elaborate for the benefit of concerned citizens on AssamNet?

Regards.

Umesh
