I am not sure why Mr. MIFTAHUL HUSSAIN actually bothers to even writeabout this. Assam bandhs are 'public holidays' that the state govt.forgot to include. So, every few days, sections of people take it byforce. The policy is simple: if you don't give, we will take it byforce. --Ram
Twice-told tale Sir,–An Assam bandh is as boring and totally uninspiring as a 'twicetold tale'. Assam specialises in these bandhs and of late thefrequency of Assam bandhs has increased quite a bit. It tellspotential investors in Assam that work has no priority here. Thesebandhs which take place here for no rhyme or reason do hold upbusiness. A new Assam has to march to a tune different from the music of thebandhs. The organisers of these bandhs have to realise that theinhabitants of today's Assam come from many walks of life and fromvarious communities who speak many languages whose day to day needsare shattered on these bandh days. Assam today has become bereft of awork culture and the occurrence of these bandhs again and again doesaugment further decay in the work culture of Assam. The quicksand (ahidden trap from which escape is difficult or impossible) of sloth isnot helping the resurgence of Assam in the new century. – Yours etc.,MIFTAHUL HUSSAIN, Guwahati. _______________________________________________ Assam mailing list [email protected] http://pikespeak.uccs.edu/mailman/listinfo/assam Mailing list FAQ: http://pikespeak.uccs.edu/assam/assam-faq.html To unsubscribe or change options: http://pikespeak.uccs.edu/mailman/options/assam
