Permit me to add a few comments.
Why did NRIs/NRAs leave their ancestral homes,if they care so much about their motherland? Well,they chose to relocate in the west where living is more comfortable,professions are more lucrative and where their offspring are assured of a much higher minimum standard.These are the enviable gains and nobody should deny anyone's right to seize them with both hands.In fact,I have seen that children are raised ( Assam/India) with a singularity of purpose; to help them forsake their ancestral homes at the earliest opportunity.An entire nation/state stands poised to leave for the brighter shores.Rhetoric about Brain Drain does not hold much water when every politician has a son or daughter,aspiring to go abroad.
The second question,emitted by the resident Assamese/Indians towards NRAs/NRIs,is --" if you are so patriotic,how come you live overseas?".It presumes that only residents of Assam/India are allowed to care about Assam/India.Says who! ?It may w
