Leave alone reading the constitution, most of them do not know the Indian National anthem, why 26th Jan is celebrated, why 15th August is celebrated etc. In India private TV channels very often go to these politicians to publicly expose them with questions abt 15th Aug etc.
However, our ultra educated professionals are also not far behind. I remember the Times of India, Hyderabad edition interviewed some students and software professionals on 2004 26th Jan and asked them why India celebrates Republic day! Some answers thay gave were like:
Because on 26th Jan 1989 India became independent
Because that day british left India
..... the list was long but I do not remmeber all of that!!
