Hi,
Though Bollywood actresses etc dare not say no to parties by Dawood - The most dangerous man in the world - as per Gilbert King's new book - published by Penguin. ULFA seems to be frightened too - or is a friend.
Umesh
PS: I am surpised that Dawood has any legitimate daughters - given that he has a voracious appetite for young virgins - more than one daily - as per the book.
Dawood to throw party for NE rebel leaders
By A Staff Reporter http://www.assamtribune.com/
GUWAHATI, July 3 It is party time for the North East insurgent leaders holed up in camps in Bangladesh. Dreaded underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is planning to host a grand party for top insurgent leaders, including those of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and the Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO), and ISI operatives in Bangladesh soon to celebrate the marriage of his daughter. Dawoods daughter is to get married with former Pakistan cricket captain Javed Miandads son.
Security sources disclosed today that Ibrahims celebratory party would be held at a secret location near the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka. Top ULFA leader Deepak Barua will represent his outfit in the party. The other ULFA leaders are said to be busy evaluating the pros and c! ons of holding talks with the Government of India. Anwar Hussain, a close aide of KLO chief Jiban Singha, will also attend the celebrations.
The sources said that the party will not be all fun. It will also be an occasion for some amount of brainstorming among the attendees. The top item on the agenda, of course, will be ways and means of creating further trouble in India, particularly the North East, they said. It is still not clear whether Dawood himself will take the trip to Bangladesh or depute someone to fill in for himself.
According to the sources, Dawood has joint business interests in the Coxs Bazaar area of Bangladesh with some of the top leaders of North East rebel groups who have utilised a huge sum of money collected through extortion, kidnapping for ransom and flourishing gun and drug running operations.
The ULFA is running a wide array of businesses in Bangladesh, including fishing trawlers in the Bay of Bengal, lodges and restaurants in Dhak! a and shoe and leather factories in the suburbs of Dhaka. Some of the insurgent leaders are actively involved in arms smuggling and drug trafficking. The Pakistani ISI has been instrumental in forging ties between Dawood and the North East rebel leaders, the sources claimed. Dawood reportedly is also closely associated with mafia leaders of Dhaka and the top leaders of fundamentalist Bangladeshi groups and parties. The don also has keen interest in the political affairs of Bangladesh.
The sources said that Dawoods party could well become a sequel to the ISI-organised meeting on December 27-28, 2004, at Mohamadpur, near Dhaka, where Operation Pincode, the ISI-sponsored game plan to slice out an Islamic homeland out of the North East territory, was fine-tuned. The December meeting saw representatives of fundamentalist militant outfits of Bangladesh and hardliner religious leaders, along with North East rebel leaders and the ISI agents joining hands to carry forward th! e agenda. ULFAs Deepak Barua was present in that meeting also.
