non of my business at all- but anyway...
Rob anything missing on the other platform that runs on z instructions
(you know which one)?
Any chance at all that a company like ...(think about TCP implementor or
about major contributor to the other one) ... could take it and
implement it there?

Yes, better than nothing. But by little.
I don't know whether John distributed the TSO Pipelines on 2010 level. I do
know IBM Denmark did it as PO until John retired. It contained several
things not in the batchpipes edition (which landed at IBM again later)
I think the concept with pipes between job steps was pretty cool,
especially with CMS Pipelines in between. Those involved didn't understand
the potential of the solution.

Good to hear from you, Rob.
Although what you say about the TSO version is entirely true, I always
felt that having TSO Pipelines was almost infinitely better than not having
Pipelines at all on MVS!

Subject: Re: TSO Pipelines (was: HLASM and VM ...)
The TSO Pipelines in Batchpipes is 35 years old. My numerous attempts to
encourage z/OS to let me upgrade it have failed. The difference with what
have in CMS is a factor 3 in built-in programs and features. For anyone
with current plumbing skills, using the TSO version is very frustrating.
I'm sorry.
