Hi, Coverity is a package that does static analysis of C, C++ and Java programs looking for bugs. Coverity provides free analysis for open source projects. We've had them analyze our code since February of 2013.
You can find our project on Coverity here: https://scan.coverity.com/projects/9?tab=Overview They recently changed their policy and now anyone can become a Project Observer without being invited by or approved by anyone. So, feel free to register as project observer! Coverity keeps track of lines of code, defects, and so on and you can see it all there - including a history of past defects, and provide a defect density comparison to other open source projects. Another site which might be of interest is Ohloh. The project's Ohloh page can be found here: http://www.ohloh.net/p/assimmon This site has a graph of lines of code over time and some other statistics. Let me know if you have any questions... -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Notification of change in the Coverity Scan service Date: Thu, 23 Jan 2014 13:15:11 -0800 From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Dear Scan Project Maintainer, Thank you for your continued support of the Coverity Scan service. Numerous project maintainers have been inundated with requests from individuals who are not contributing to the project but simply want to view it. After discussion with some of you, and to ease this burden, we have added a new Project Observer role. Project Observers be able to view high level data about individual projects including the count of outstanding defects, fixed defects and defect density. Preview of high level data availalbe to Project Observer https://scan.coverity.com/project_summary.png They will not be able to view actual defects or make changes to the project. Unless you choose to opt out, Project Observer requests will automatically be approved. If decide to opt out, you will still be able to grant observer rights to specific individuals. To opt out, you will need to complete the following steps by February 7th: 1. Click on http://scan.coverity.com/projects/9?tab=Project+Settings 2. Sign-in to Coverity Scan, if you are prompted to sign-in. 3. Click on "Edit" and choose "Access to Project summary requires approval from Project Maintainer". Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about this program.
