I wrote a new blog post on Discovery-Driven Configuration-free
monitoring with the Assimilation Project's OCF Resource Agents
http://bit.ly/1jvK5Vz
<http://bit.ly/1jvK5Vz>
First paragraph from the blog post:

In my previous post on automatic service monitoring rules, I explained
the general principles behind the Assimilation project
<http://assimproj.org/>'s rules for automatically monitoring
with LSB-style init scripts
<http://refspecs.linuxbase.org/LSB_3.1.1/LSB-Core-generic/LSB-Core-generic/iniscrptact.html>
 based
on what we've discovered. In this post, I'll extend that further and
explain how to monitor using Open Cluster Framework
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Cluster_Framework> (OCF) resource
agents - which are far more powerful, but a bit more interesting to
configure.

As you will recall from the previous post, LSB resource agents rules
were written using JSON <http://json.org/> with comments. The rules for
recognizing and configuring OCF resource agents are very similar - and
are also described in JSON. Faithful readers may recall that I wrote a
blog post on how OCF monitoring works
<http://techthoughts.typepad.com/managing_computers/2013/06/how-open-cluster-framework-monitoring-works.html>
 -
which may be of interest to review.
