If I have configured a mailserver and relay, such that without ASSP, the 
mailserver will send to relay and the relay will send to the internet - 
so I know that part works - why would having the mailserver send to 
relayPort, and relayHost point to the relayhost, result in an error?

My mailserver log shows ...  rejected "DATA": "250 2.1.5 Ok"
