Download the version again - I've done several updates this morning, all
with the same version number - this bug was in one of them.

>I can't understand why it wants to write on "assp.pl"

Nobody wants to write on assp.pl - this is only a permission check!

Sounds like it needs some "bug squatting" :)

Dec-01-09 11:16:10 [Main_Thread] Admin connection from user root on host
11.22.33.44:7202; page:/
Dec-01-09 11:16:11 [Main_Thread] AdminUpdate: [root 11.22.33.44]
AutoUpdateASSP changed from '0' to '1'
Dec-01-09 11:16:11 [Worker_10000] Warning: autoupdate - unable to write
to c:/assp/c:/assp/assp.pl - skip update
Dec-01-09 11:16:11 [Main_Thread] Saving config

the above are the log entries right after I changed the autoupdate to
"download only" and clicked "apply"; it sounds like the path isn't
correct :( also, I can't understand why it wants to write on "assp.pl"
to ... UPDATE it ? I already got the latest version running !
