I've been thinking disk IO too.  These are just SATA II disks, but
that should still be fine.

You're not the boss of me.  I don't have to listen to you. :)

I think that I need to leave subject logging on as the handful of
users heavily rely on blocklist reporting - really as a crutch more
than for function.

It's my understanding that with subject logging on, files will be
removed using MaintBayesCollection, which deletes oldest first, giving
us the best chance of new files sticking around for retrieval via the
block report.

I wasn't aware that ASSP remembered which files it has recently
overwritten when using number logging.  Maybe Thomas can chime in on
that.
