As I understand it, these secure channels are designed to prevent message 
interception and 
decryption (so-called man-in-the-middle attacks). As such, ASSP has no chance 
of reading the SMTP 
traffic which it needs to operate.

Or are you asking that ASSP should allow TLS conversations, and proxy them 
without acting on them?

A possible solution to this might be to allow secure connections directly to 
your MTA via a 
different port.
