i still think that before releasing 1.2.7 we should have 1 full week to test
the release candidate for bugs.

well maybe you could 'release' it but not publish on sf for an additional
week, so we all can (and should) test in production for last minute issues.

i think that's strategic (and good PR) not to publish a stable build and
recall it a few days later for bugs. Assp is getting better and better every
day, let's show the world it's solid, reliable and production quality
software. Call it marketing, call it good press, but i think we need to have
a 'press release' ready and some volunteer to announce it on nanae, spam-l
and to the various tech forums and newspapers.

or, you you feel the urge to release it soon, call it 1.99 so it's clear to
everybody that's just a temporary 'technological preview' version and you're
going to realease a major new 2.0 in a month or so...

and, for next version, i'll suggest moving development discussions to -dev
mailng list.

needless to say i'll do all the test today and tomorrow with 1.2.7.7(1) .
Fritz is the main developer now, so he deserves all my respect even when i
think he'd better wait a few more days...
