Probably no different. Check the assp.pl file and see if anything is
altered.  Usually, 
publishing the official release just means packaging with the notes and
other documentation. 
I don't worry too much about additional files unless function/format has
changed.

The main difference is 2.x is muti-threaded while 1.x is single-threaded.
Perl needs to be 
updated for 2 and there are other recommendations as well.  It's still in
beta, and still open 
source.  Personally I hope 1.x will continue to be developed, and I haven't
heard any plans to 
stop.
