on 1) there is an option under Server Setup to set permissions on all files -
solved my problem

2) ill have to experiment with the outing TCP routing here to get email infc
going again.

Groupwise 6.5 MTA cant handle split port settings so its always listening on
25
If I set it to listen on 125 and tell ASSP to SMTPDestination to GWIA:125,
GWIA receives ok
but outgoing mail was sending on 125 to the internet!
ASSP Could be setup to use the ISP smtp, but restrictions apply.

Seems my only answer is to run another mta just for outbound, listening on
125 internally, sending on 25 to the net, but with SPF and reverse DNS
pointers all pointing to one address for our domain's email, the mail has to
come from the same machine running ASSP, then mail routing loops kill me.

unless i have a port forwarding router in front of ASSP using the public MX
address, translating GWIA/MTA outbound on 125 to 25 outbound.

or upgrade Groupwise to version 7+ which can do split ports like exchange.
