Herman, Anyone can get a merchant account. It's not hard. Living outside of the US, however, makes it a little difficult. If you're selling to American Citizens, you're going to need a US merchant account. >From experience, I can tell you that if you're doing less than $10,000/month in the US, anyone can get approved for a merchant account from First Data with decent rates.
