I'm running * on Redhat9 with E100P and ISDN PRI.
When I executed asterisk, I could see about 25
asterisk processes.
Did someone experienced this?

I only see one :)

$ ps -ef |grep asterisk
root     12536     1  0 Nov22 ?        00:00:00 /opt/asterisk/sbin/asterisk
xming     7486  7481  0 19:44 pts/0    00:00:00 grep asterisk
$

let me guess, you are using 2.4.x kernel? In 2.4 kernel, all threads are
listed ad processes
