// PLEASANTON, Calif. & HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20,
2005--Polycom(R), Inc. (NASDAQ:PLCM), the world's leading provider of
unified collaborative communications solutions, today announced it has
joined the Digium Partners Program as a Premier Interoperability
Partner to confirm interoperability between Polycom's award-winning
SIP desktop and conference phones with Asterisk Business Edition, the
professional-grade version of the industry's first open source PBX.
The combined Digium and Polycom offering gives customers an
interoperable standards-based solution with a range of high-quality
Polycom phones to leverage the telephony features offered by Asterisk
Business Edition.

Under the Partnership, select Polycom's phones have been tested and
validated to be interoperable with the Asterisk Business Edition. The
Digium Partner Program Interoperability Test Suite used for
interoperability testing will be the basis for future testing of new
Polycom products with professional-grade Asterisk offerings. As a
result, Asterisk Business Edition customers will have certified
interoperability with validated Polycom IP phones and feature sets.
Testing is expected to be complete within 30 days. //
