The radio station might not care, but it's probably the opinion of the copyright holder that is legally relevant.
Re-broadcasting radio stations is illegal, even though everyone does it and no one is doing any sueing over it (as far as I am aware). As an interconnect, you would be wise to advise your customer that you take NO responsibility for whatever they hook into their music on hold. Give them a plug, and tell them (nudge nudge wink wink) that they may only connect a licensed sound source (muzak or whatever) to it. If you do it for them you might be liable, and remember that the music industry is in self-destruct mode, and they're hell bent on taking their customers down with them. Imagine how ridiculous it is to sue teenagers for thousands of dollars over a few songs shared on P2P, and then imagine how much more attractive you, a company, would be to their legal teams. Perhaps not yet, but their traditional revenue streams are drying up, and there are many businesses who think that they can litigate themselves back to profitability. After you've installed hundreds of systems, all with unlicensed music feeds, how many thousands of dollars do you think they will sure you for? Um . . . am I ranting? LOL! And ya, I've been witness to radio stations being connected to MOH lots of times when I worked at $%#*@, so subpoena me :-p Jim. -- Jim Van Meggelen [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/au/2177 "A child is the ultimate startup, and I have three.
