This is interesting! I remember when this issue arouse, I called myself on
a PSTN number and then tried to hear the touch tones. Instead of hearing
the tones corresponding to the numbers, I heard something more like a
click-cluck so I knew then the tones were not getting broadcasted correctly.
This is an interesting issue... and it appears the circumstances are
different. On my case, it fixed the problem changing my Sipura to the
"Info", and it appears in other cases it is something else.
So Ian: If your friend can connect via IAX2 to the same box and his tones
are read correctly, then perhaps it's safe to say that the tones are not
getting generated correctly from your first Asterisk box or your phone set.
I'd be curious to know what Digium has to say or if others had similar
issues. If you have been able to fix this issue, let us know what was the
resolution.
