Quick Update ------------
All your suggestions worked! (You should all give yourself a clap on the shoulder for being able to teach this old dog a new trick). I managed to connect the SIP trunk/channel to the MetaSwitch switching platform. Now however, I've hit another road block.the MS has both OLI/ANI II screening as well as Nature of Address screening enabled. How in the Asterisk platform would I specify what OLI and NOA to send out with my calls? i.e. For Domestic calls: 416.555.1212 with OLI of "00" for POTS indication and NOA of "National" for the dialed digits. Any help would be appreciated. Andy Jaikissoon Senior Switch Administrator 450Tel Communications Inc. As such, setting up a sip channel can be as simple as naming it in sip.conf (which you do by defining it in a heading framed in square brackets), giving it a context in which to arrive, and possibly providing a password. There are many other settings that can be defined, but keep it simple for lab work is my advice. Something like this should do: [metaswitch] type=friend password=metaswitch context=incoming The key is to make sure you have an [incoming] context in your extensions.conf that'll handle this. Probably just define the "s" exten (which may already be there). The URI that your metaswitch would want to address would be [EMAIL PROTECTED] (assuming the hostname of your Asterisk is "asterisk-system"). In your Metaswitch you just need to mess around until you find a combination that gets you through. Obviously, the username and password are both "metaswitch", so you eliminate confusion as to what should go where - doesn't matter, it's all the same. Once it's up and running you can experiment with some of the more advanced features, but get a basic connection going first so you have a known-good config to go back to. Have fun! I've recently been getting more and more into this Asterisk craze and have seen many uses for it. With all the information available on the internet, setup was a breeze and my system is running as nicely as I could want it internally here. My post though is concerning a road block that I've hit now. I have a Metaswitch VP3510 that I'm trying to connect too but cannot find any information on the particular setup at both ends that would be required for this to work (using a SIP trunk). Any one out there able to offer some advice? I've been beating my brains on this one. Thanks ahead of time. Andy Jaikissoon Senior Switch Administrator 450Tel Communications Inc.
