I can call Norstar extensions from the IP phone, but not the other way around.

Oh ... I'm not sure what your setup is like, but I don't have this problem. I can call voip phones from nortel stations just fine. If you bridge from nortel extension => nortel ATA => asterisk, the asterisk should handle the incoming calls like any other pots line. As far as the Norstar is concerned, it has just dialed an extension.

I've done the same thing and encountered the same problem, as far as I know Norstar does not send DTMF internally, in my situation I can call Norstar extensions from the IP phone, but not the other way around. If I dial our (external PSTN) number from a Norstar extension, then dial the ATA extension, I can call the IP phone. A telecom guy told me an ATA expansion card for the Norstar would fix the problem, Jim? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dominic Ogbonna" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Does anyone have experience integrating an asterisk system into an exisitng Norstar system? Basically, I bridged a norstar extension into an asterisk box, thusly:

Norstar extension => nortel ATA =>TDMcard/Asterisk => Voip phone.

Everything works great ... except for one thing: I can't get the voip phone to log into the norstar queue, like you would with a regular nortel phone. How do I send feature commands to the Norstar from a voip phone? Any ideas?
