No the service uses the existing cable, I've just done some more speed
testing and I now dowload at 5.3 mbs
4 times faster than with Rogers. The upload is about 650 kbs but that's
life I guess.
I did venture into getting DSL but the speed was very poor due to being
some distance from the CO.

Are you on DSL now? If so, do they provide "dry-loop" DSL?
As far as I know, only Sympatico/Bell will offer DSL without a landline.

Hi all, I've just dumped Rogers and went to 3web, and so far it's been
a really good move .
I was paying nearly $50 per month for residential service and getting
about 1.5 mbs download speed (on a good day) After a very low
introductory offer I will be paying $40 per month and getting 2.8 mbs
download plus an unlimited number of email accounts........So sing along

Also I have been able to have the handset surgically removed from my ear
now that I don't have to call Rogers anymore.
