Have you tried changing the format of the voicemail being saved - if I recall, 
in voicemail.conf, one can set the format of the recorded voicemail

format=wav49|gsm|wav

and by default, it saves voicemail in all 3 formats.

Maybe there is a problem in doing one of these conversions. I haven't dug into 
the code at all to see what is creating the conversions, but you may want to 
try and save it in only 1 format and see if that makes any difference.

Possibly there is a memory leak and so the conversion is taking longer and 
longer, until an Asterisk restart?
