I have installed [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2.8 on a 933 MHz IBM NetVista with 256 RAM (No VMware). Everything is fine except for when the system starts it pauses for about 10 minutes on "smartd" test (whatever that is). Finally, it passes with "Ok" but it's really annoying waiting for the machineto boot up in like 15 minutes. I used to have [EMAIL PROTECTED] with vmware (Win XP) and smartd would simply fail and wouldn't take time at all. Still, this IBM system is pretty fast for Asterisk so the speed shouldn't be a problem.
1- Does anyone know what "smartd" is? How can I fix it?
2- There are so many checks that [EMAIL PROTECTED] does when it restarts, how can I configure it so that it just loads neccessary things rather than doing so many checks (e.g. check for new hardware, load ztdummy, etc.....)
