It will get set automatically for the outbound channel. I use Unlimitel.

Calls will outdial to my cellular using my Unlimitel account and show
the CLID of the original caller.

Apparently SIP provider must allow CID to be set by the customer.
I can’t believe that this isn’t a very common requirement!
Can anyone tell me if there are any providers in Canada that allow the
CID to be set on the fly?
As an aside I haven’t found any SIP providers for the St.
Catharines/Niagara Area. This limits me to using a SIP provider for
outgoing calls only.
Does anyone know of a provider that can give me a local number for
incoming calls in my area
