CDR access with the h extension

I am trying to access the cdr on the h extension.  My agi script works 
but the cdr is not written until the full extension is exited.  I know 
that in 1.4 this is achieved by the enabled option "endbeforehexten" in 
cdr.conf.  But I am using 1.2.15.  Do I have to upgrade or is there a 
work around?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advanced.
