Huh, I would have thought that got around that. Is there specific information you need from the CDR that could maybe be obtained from running variables?

Yes, I have used the DeadAGI function. The only problem is that the CDR is not closed and that particular call is not written yet when that function is called. So accessing the CDR for the latest information results in a null.
