There are a few options, if you have a cluster of phones together, you
can use a WifFi router as a bridge. With 600 feet you may have an issue
and need a repeater or look at implementing a mesh ( openWRT is good for
this ).
Depends if you have line of sight or not, what kind of antenna you
have/able to hook up to the router and all sorts of things, relaying a
signal isn't always the best option due to the half duplex nature of
wifi it can reduce overall through put.
If all the stations/desks are easily reached with WifFi coverage, you
can also look at Linksys ( I personally am not a fan of their phones ).
Apart from the Nokia E series phones I don't know of any good wifi phones.
600 ft is no problem with directional (yagi) antennae at each end.
Google for "cantenna" if you want to do it cheap. Take care with the
element spacing and they're just as good as commercial product. There's
an O'Reilly book on Wireless Hacks (by Rob Flickenger) which may be
useful. I've made Pringle's can antennae in the past with a gain around
12dBi, though they get a bit sogy n the rain! :-)
Repeaters should be avoided as they introduce extra latency and
effectively half your bandwidth.
