Just following up on this - I can confirm Drew's information about the unreliability of faxing through an Asterisk box.
It seems that anything above 7 or so pages will have problems. I had someone I know run some tests in a clean environment - no luck sending anything above 10 pages in one try. This is using G711u with a quiet network. It just doesn't work. Not nice, but good to know. Regards, Dave. On 4/13/07, Drew Gibson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
There is a current thread on asterisk-users "Fax Blast over IP?" that may be of interest. " http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/ The conclusion seemed to be that it will generally work fax m/c --> ATA --> Asterisk --> PSTN but only if you use the G711u codec. You need a good network path (LAN with no congestion). Lifetime Guarantee ;- When it breaks, it's end-of-life. regards, Drew Phil Oxrud wrote: If one does decide to go with an ATA, does anyone have any suggestions about which ATA works best with faxing?
