Hello Paul:

Telnet is enabled on the Aastra phone by default, but this is not supported in
the field for consumer use as per Aastra engineers. You could literally
telnet into the phone and do certain admin and config stuff. Its sort of the
super user mode .. aka the superconfig.

Not sure if I am at a liberty to distribute the superconfig information, but if
you are interested & if anyone here is interested and you are a actively
involved in administration & configuration of the phones - for the sake of
knowledge I am happy to pass the info to you -- after you sign a
confidentiality agreement & and agreement not to bother Aastra on tech support
issues (as it is not supported) related to the superconfig.

The superconfig is designed more for those shell line junkies with development
background :). If you are interested, please write to me off line with "OFF
LINE" prefixed to your subject.

Cheers!
Reza.

  Subject: [on-asterisk] Port 23 on Aastra 9133i

Does anybody know why port 23 shows as open when I scan the ports on an
Aastra 9133i phone?
I can't find any reference to telnet and the 9133i anywhere.
I am mostly wondering if it possible to do anything useful with telnet on an
Aastra phone.

  Thanks,
  Paul
