Is there a way to turn off telnet on the phone? It seems like a security risk to have such a dangerous admin interface open by default on the phone!

You could literally telnet into the phone and do certain admin and config stuff. Its sort of the super user mode .. aka the superconfig. Not sure if I am at a liberty to distribute the superconfig information, but if you are interested & if anyone here is interested and you are a actively involved in administration & configuration of the phones - for the sake of knowledge I am happy to pass the info to you -- after you sign a confidentiality agreement & and agreement not to bother Aastra on tech support issues (as it is not supported) related to the superconfig.
