I have also read about people buying very long USB cables, and throwing the key 
into a Tupperware box and throwing it onto the top of the roof to improve 
signal quality (other end plugged into laptop or router). This is what I will 
likely have to do in October at the cottage.

Thanks for the heads-up. Currently my cottage is in a "black hole" for any cell 
towers
and I can't get a land line either. The only way I can get to the internet is a 
30 km
drive to an internet cafe in Madoc. Apparently a new cell tower is due to be 
erected
at the nearest town (Millbrook) hopefully this will give me access from the 
cottage.
Anyway, I will need this type of router if and when it happens :)
