Hi Bruce,

did you set the "local network" address in sip.conf? This allows Asterisk to decide which traffic does not require NAT.

e.g.
for typical home network (192.168.1.0/24)

    localnet = 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0

regards,

Drew

Thanks for the feedback Stephan.

No, this is a single router with both server and phones on the same
network/subnet. Somehow the nat=yes in the sip_nat.conf effected all the
internal calls as well. And since it effected all the internal calls, hence,
the ZAP also had one way audio which again related to the confusion of nat=yes
within the network. I think nat=yes applied globally in this specific
environment. The router is pfsense and I am also suspecting it behaves
differently from other routers I worked with

Issue was solved by remove nat=yes from the mentioned file.

Bruce

Subject: Re: [on-asterisk] One-Way Audio on both SIP / Zaptel but not on IAX

Bruce,

I'm surprise you get one way audio on Zaptel calls.

Are you running double NAT on your network (2 routers)? SIP will not function
right with double NAT or 2 routers.

Are you using a DSL modem with the built-in router by any chance? If you do,
you are probably using 2 routers on your network and SIP calls may get one way
audio.

Hi Everyone,
Could the internal firewall be the cause of this?Anyone can share their pfsense
LAN firewall settings?
This is a system that has been working and stopped working without any changes.
Thanks
