Leif, I had a similar situation no connectivity near 401/Martin Grove for a new client. It is 5 story building. Then I order the TeraGO 3Mbps connection.
Right now They are using 6 Phones ( Linksys SPA942) , Codec G.711 no issues.Client connecting to my HostedPBX which is hosted in a data center (Montreal). Delay 10~15 ms right now. Also I am using unlimitel for VOIP. Almost three weeks no complaints. --- *FYI .. TeraGO 1.5Mbps up/down ---- IS BURSTABLE and not all the time available.* Thanks Aloysius Lloyd Phone : +1-416-479-0505 Ext 203 Email : [email protected] | Web : www.sunteltech.ca On Wed, Mar 9, 2011 at 10:26 AM, Leif Madsen <[email protected]> wrote: > On Wed, Mar 9, 2011 at 10:20 AM, Stephan Monette <[email protected]> > wrote: > > You will experience packet loss for sure using any wireless service. > > > > But if this is your only solution available to you, I would recommend the > following setup: > > > > Use an Asterisk server with a Sangoma Transcoding card to handle iLBC > codec (Digium transcoding cards do not support iLBC). > > > > The iLBC codec is a very low bandwidth and handles packet loss very well. > > > > I tested this setup and I was amazed about the voice quality using iLBC. > I couldn't tell the difference. > > > > Polycom Phones are compatible with iLBC codec. > > Perfect!
