Ok guys.... Was hard enough to keep upto date on production environment, upgrading from 1.4 to 1.6. After careful planning we originally jumped from 1.4 to 1.8 during a time when production 1.8 was *considered* production. After processing less than 1,000 calls in an hour, the server crashed (1.4 to 1.8). We then downgraded back to original version 1.4 and things stabilized. Then decided to upgrade to 1.6.... and to date 1.6.2.xx (currently 1.6.2.19) appears to be stable & rock solid, exceeding 100,000+ calls (without reloads).

Now I am faced with the dilema whether I should focus on 1.8 as its inevitable that at one point I would need to look at 1.8..... or to just take the quantum leap to version 10. I suspect within the year, Asterisk Beta 10 will be production 10.

I know almost all of you in this group. But would like to know if anyone of you here are exceeding the 100,000+ call volume in a given month per server (on Asterisk). Additionally I would like to learn if anyone here is running Asterisk 1.6 with the volume that I have (or perhaps more) - as I would like to collaborate with you for future migrations to share notes.

Last but not least... why the sudden jump from Version 1.8 to Version 10 Beta. One would have thought the next logical evolution would have been Asterisk Version 2.0 Beta. Would appreciate feedback and your two cents on the above notes.

Thanks and regards,
Reza.
