Hi Bruce, If they already have a paging system, check that out. If you're lucky it's SIP enabled or the manufacturer has a SIP add-on interface.
At the very least, they usually have an interface called 'night ringer' or something along those lines. The ones I've seen use a 'dry contact' interface. That means you trigger it by connecting the two wires from the dry contact terminals in a short circuit. As for how to do that from Asterisk, you could try something like this: http://www.algosolutions.com/products/Audible-and-Visual-Alerting/8061.html I've never used it but that's the kind of thing that would do the job. If you feel more DIY, you could make something with a Phidgets relay board and a little script http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?category=9&product_id=1014_2. If they don't have a paging system or you don't want to touch it, you could look at this thing. http://www.algosolutions.com/products/Audible-and-Visual-Alerting/8180-sip-audio-alerter.html Again, I haven't used it but it sounded like an interesting problem so I did some Googling. It looks like you could just put it into the ring group. Easy peasy. Hope that helps, let us know how it turns out.
