Mmm. I wouldn't be highly recommending running festival on the soekris, although it might work. The issue is a similar one to that faced by those who try running g729 codecs on a soekris - a distinct lack of CPU power. You can probably run festival on another box and connect to it remotely by using the festival_server, but you won't get much grunt out of your soekris with festival running natively...
