The issues I've been having with VIA boards, is lockups. This has been, for me, an issue, not just with Linux, but also Astlinux. It's a shame as I saw these as systems that bridged the gap between a Soekris and a PC. These issues are specific to VIA

Can't you run linux on a Via Epia? or you mean astlinux? I used many distributions on epia and they worked well. Now I'm using a pure debian testing.
