Check out the equipment made by WTI (Western Telematics, i think). I  
bought a remote reboot switch of theirs off ebay (significant  
savings) and control it over serial. I know they have more advanced  
models too now with IP links, but if you can just hook up a modem to  
its serial port, or plug it into the serial of the Asterisk box and  
write something just like that then all the cheaper. I currently have  
it tied into some network and server monitoring software to reboot  
hardware automatically as needed (though once I tracked down the  
faulty RAID card, that server is no longer locking up and requiring  
the switch, but it's good to have).
