Chris, What image do you need? (device type: generic i586, via, net5501 etc). I have several built with svn 1895 which have been stable and work well. If you're building your own, update to the latest svn as there have been several changes which may or may not affect what you see.
The mount error is not related to fsck so I would be willing to bet that there is something wrong with the way that image was created.
