Phil, I just went through the list and see where you brought up the 1.0 release a little more than a year ago. The next release will be 0.6.0. It's a huge improvement over 0.4.8 (the previous release), but it's still not a 1.0 release. It's much more polished, and there have been some very significant changes. It's been very thoroughly tested and has been in use by many of us in production environments. The 0.6.0 files will be available any day now. Kristian is building the release files and will be uploading them after some basic testing has been done to ensure the images are correct. One of the nicest things about this release is the incarnation of a different boot system. The boot system called 'runnix' makes upgrading and changing between Astlinux revisions very simple. In most cases, you'll never have to pull the CF card out of the system after it's been initially configured. The new CF layout looks like this: /dev/hdX1 => partition with syslinux boot loader (vfat) /dev/hdX2 => unionfs partition optionally /dev/hdX3 => key disk partition -- no longer needed with unionfs The documentation on www.astlinux.org explains most of this.
