Thanks for testing.  The 0.6.x branch is considered stable and won't be 
getting any major upgrades like the kernel.  It's a HUGE undertaking 
which will break many many things.  Also, we've not seen the same 
problems with most systems.  We realize that 2.6.20 is getting older 
which is why we've upgraded that in our SVN trunk version.  This will be 
released as 0.7.x at some point in the not yet determined future (best 
answer is "when it's ready").

There are some additional changes/updates that need to happen to trunk 
before we can recommend trunk to anyone other than developers.

I'm pretty sure that recent kernels support the RealTek chip you mention 
below.  I don't have the hardware you mention, but after we tidy things 
up a bit more in trunk, we'll have images available for you to play with.
