Nope.  Do not create it.  It shouldn't be created (unless you need to 
load firmware in /lib/firmware and in that case you would just cd to 
/lib (not /oldroot/mnt/asturw...).  Modifying the unionfs partition 
directly is not necessary (or desired) in most cases.  There was a bug 
in pre 0.6.2 images that could cause that directory to be created on the 
unionfs partition.  It was resolved by upgrading to a newer version of 
unionfs.

When you did the upgrade, did you also replace the initrd file?  I guess 
we need some additional information to help you out.  What target device 
are you using?  Any reason for going to 0.6.2 instead of 0.6.3?
