Chris,

We are taking some preliminary steps to address this and several other 
shortcomings with our current build system.

With our current system, there are limitations due to uClibc.  These 
include not being able to use g729 codec for transcoding, not being able 
to use Skype for Asterisk or the fax module from Digium.

We hope to identify the next system we will use for AstLinux in the next 
few weeks, but keep in mind that it's likely to be a fairly long process 
to get to the point where we have a 'release' ready.

One of our goals for the next big jump with AstLinux is to make it 
easier for people like yourself to add additional functionality.
